Dear Faculty of Arts,

As we prepare to spring forward this weekend, we reflect on two years ago when we were about to cross an unknown threshold into the pandemic and the Great Pivot. This spring, there is a feeling of renewal. The more time you spend on campus, the more occasions there are for bumping into smiling colleagues and students …

Is it really you?

Has it really been two years since we last saw each other in real life?

How are your students enjoying being in class?

They are thrilled!

And in these moments, you notice that everyone seems taller, bigger, and oh so three-dimensional! Yes, moving away from two-inch squares on a screen during a Teams meeting or Zoom session to three dimensions makes life all that more vibrant.
