KPU Team Joins AAC&U ePortfolio Institute 2022-2023

In Fall 2021, a KPU team comprised of members from the Teaching and Learning Commons (TLC) and  the Wilson School of Design (WSD) were accepted to the AAC&U 2022 Institute on ePortfolios

Background

KPU is working towards a wider adoption of Folio Thinking and ePortfolios across the institution to promote high impact teaching and learning experiences and meet its strategic planning goals. To support these goals, KPU has invested in the enterprise ePortfolio platform PebblePad and created a one-year time release Educational Consultant position for ePortfolio Advancement within the TLC to deliver more tailored professional development opportunities and support for faculty.

The WSD recognizes the use of ePortfolios has become industry standard in the field of Design and graduates of Design programs require the skills to represent themselves and their work digitally to secure employment. Faculty require pedagogical and technical upskilling and programs need revisions to prepare learners to meet industry expectations.

Project Team Goals

For this project, the WSD is teaming up with the TLC to implement e-portfolios program-wide in the WSD. Our hope is that WSD faculty champions will inspire and encourage their Faculty colleagues to continue to implement ePortfolios to meet industry standards, employer expectations, accreditation, and revised goals across programs. In turn, members from the Teaching and Learning Commons will support these efforts within the Faculty and use the knowledge gained and resources developed to advance and support ePortfolio adoption across the the KPU community.

Team Members

Our collaborative team is comprised of a broad range of subject-matter experts (Design, Design Thinking, pedagogy, instructional design and assessment, program and curriculum development, learning technologies, leadership, distance learning, developmental education, open pedagogy, and blended learning). We look forward to sharing our own expertise and learning from the experts and other institutional teams at the Institute.
