Zippers

There are lots of different types of zippers, centered, lapped, fly, invisible, exposed, and other.  Zippers can be used as closure methods in garments like coats, jackets, pants, and even in accessories like bags.  Zippers, and  zipper teeth tape are at times even used as design details.

  • Centered Zipper Step 3
    Top stitch around the out side of the zipper
  • Centered Zipper Step 2
    Stitch the zipper tape to the seam allowance to hole the zipper in place
  • Sewing a Lapped Zipper Step 2
    For the second step of the lapped zipper, turn back one size of the seam allowance and stitch to the zipper tape.
