Today, we will be interviewing a Ugandan who came to Canada as a UN refugee. Mukhtar presently resides in Ottawa. A proud, yet humble, & successful  co-founder and CEO of Autovision Wireless Inc – a company formed by acquiring the assets of Bell Canada Fleet Technology that grew into a multi-million dollar business. Retirement for Mukhtar means giving back & supporting the non-profit organizations in various parts of the world, including Uganda!

We will be hearing Mukhtar’s stories as he & his family left on the very last day of the deadline to flee Uganda, Nov 8, 1972. His dad was very reluctant to leave his home land but was forced by his family. He still believed that as a Uganda citizen, he had a right to stay in Kampala, where he had a flourishing auctioneering business.

At the airport, they did not have a clue as to where they would be transported by the UN planes. Mukhtar takes us on this exciting, yet fearful journey! What does the future hold for him & his family? At a refugee camp in Malta, pursuing his education in Malta, and meeting his friendly & very helpful hosts who he is friends with till the present day. Let us hear it all from Mukhtar!
