Without any apprehension and a background of working with refugees and sponsored families, Michael & Vera opened up their house & heart and welcomed a Ugandan Asian couple to their home in Toronto during the 1972 Ugandan expulsion. They have played a pivotal role in the lives of Syrian, Bosnian and Ugandan families in their homes both in Toronto and Osoyoos.
