Bahadur talks proudly about his father, Mohamed Rahemtulla who developed the soda and carbon dioxide plant in Jinja, Uganda in the 1940s. They held the monopoly over these factories until the expulsion in 1972. They remained in Jinja after the majority of the Ugandan Asians left in Nov, 1972. It was not for long though, as Idi Amin, accompanied by the Mayor of Jinja, came to their plant one day in Feb 1973 and handed their property over to the Mayor! Let us hear from Bahadur as he shares his stories….and his travels to Uganda, five times to get his possessions!
