Born in Kamuli, Ramesh spent most of his time in Jinja. Like all the other Ugandans, he had to flee Jinja in 1972, giving up his education at Makerere University. In October 1972, he departed for America via refugee camps in Naples, Italy. After a months stay in Naples, he got clearance to go to New York and then to Los  Angeles as the final destination along with his older brother Chandrakant. He shares details of his education and work in LA and how he has now assimilated into the American way of life. He also took a trip recently to Naples to cherish the good/bad memories of the refugee camps.
