A Vision for a Restorative Campus – by Sue Dorey

This project was completed for the Introduction to Restorative Justice: Concepts Theory and Philosophy (CRJ315) course which is part of the Restorative Justice Certificate Program at SFU.  I have been interested in restorative justice practices and have been connected to and involved with community based restorative justice programs since 2001.  In 2020 I started a new position with a post secondary institution and decided to take some time to deepen my understanding of restorative justice theory and practice. The SFU certificate program provided an excellent opportunity for me to continue my learning and develop a vision for restorative justice in post secondary settings.  The power point attached outlines a personal journey of possibilities, an opportunity to conceptualize how restorative justice practices might be applied on a university campus, to imagine a campus that was build around restorative justice values and principles.  For this project I wanted to dream big and explore a few idea’s of how one might develop restorative justice community on a post secondary campus. I hope this project provides some inspiration for you on your restorative justice journey.

Below please find a google file link with a narrated version of the power point and a google file link for just the pdf.
