I would like to share some exciting news! Operators Without Borders has formally invited me, on behalf of Continuing & Professional Studies at Kwantlen Polytechnic University, to join a team of water and wastewater operators who will be volunteering this February in Belize. The goal is to build capacity in water and wastewater utilities in the Caribbean and other developing nations to bring them closer to reaching the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, Goal 6 of this directive being Clean Water and Sanitation for everyone.
Belize Water Services which provides water and wastewater management to the citizens of Belize has requested help in training and mentoring their operators – the goal of Operators Without Borders. They have specifically requested help with Confined Space and Safety issues. Our outstanding reputation as an educator in Water & Wastewater has created this opportunity to take our first class training abroad and be a mentor to these operators. This opportunity will be a catalyst for sharing potentially life-saving knowledge and skills and should be a very worthwhile and fulfilling experience.
The start of the Mission to Belize is February 16th. I look forward to sharing my journey with you!
