Pakoras is a snack that is served in many occasions in Indian culture. They are a easy go to snack and it is really liked by everyone even though you belong to Indian culture or not. They are officially originated in India. Looking at the history Pakoras were first created back in 1930 and it comes from Peshawar Cuisine. Kundan Lal was the man who invented this. He had a restaurant and apparently in his restaurants menu there was no fried dish so he though do add that dish given the name of Pakoras which basically means fries coated with flour gram adding vegetables.
Popular vegetables are like onions, potatoes, spinach, coriander powder, garam masala, and many more. You can add your favorite veggies too for example, cauliflower or brinjal, cheese. Most favorites are spinach ones and cheese ones they are kids favorites. Even though they are fried and one may think it does not seem really healthy but looking at the stuff that goes inside like vegetables or flour and we should not forget about the flavors that adds to the taste. Pakoras are served with two different types of chutneys which we call dressings. This dish loses it tastes without this dressings. Chutneys are made fruit or vegetables with ginger, garlic, and chilies. Spices and vinegar are added to preserve the chutney you can also add mint, coriander and tamarind. It is one of the most tasty street foods that you can easily found in India.
Talking about my relation with this tasty snack is when they are friends coming over this is the first thing that they asked for. It is best combination with ginger Indian tea and having this hot snack with flavorful chutneys.
