Employment and Community Studies (EACS) formerly Access Programs (AP)
Following a full curriculum revision, the new EACS program has embedded ePortfolio use across the program’s curriculum with folio thinking competencies as key learning outcomes and PebblePad as the primary platform. Assisted by a Irving K. Barber Endowment for Educational Opportunities, EAC faculty worked with the Teaching and
Learning Commons to create a Digital Student Learning Community through which EAC students can gain greater access to the larger KPU community and collaborate with their peers in the creation of their ePortfolios.

EACS PebblePad Workbooks
EACS faculty and students have embraced PebblePad workbooks which allow faculty to create engaging resources to scaffold folio thinking and other course and program learning outcomes for students. Click on the images below to view these resources created by faculty champion Anjela Godber.

English Upgrading (EU)
KPUs Educational Consultant for ePortfolio Advancement at KPU also happens to be a faculty member in the EU department. Eager to share the value of eportfolio pedagogy with her students, Gillian Sudlow uses eportfolios in all of her courses to scaffold students towards not only course learning outcomes but also folio thinking. ePortfolios are the ideal medium to evidence the writing process whether it be for a simple paragraph, a research paper, or a presentation. ePortfolios can also be used to explicitly demonstrate how learners are meeting course outcomes by encouraging them to link course assignments to course learning outcomes, reflecting on progress along the way.
English Upgrading PebblePad Workbooks
Below, is an ENGQ 1092 Research Paper and Presentation workbook which scaffolds students through the process of writing a research paper and creating a presentation on that paper. Next, is a ENGQ 1099 Learning Journey series of 3 workbooks, designed to scaffold students in monitoring and reflecting on their progress throughout the course. The series plays on the stages of the writing process, a key learning outcome of the course. Click on each of the links to view.
