French Seam

A ‘seam with-in a seam’ and is used on sheer fabric such as chiffon, organza or georgette.

1. With fabric wrong sides together stitch with a little less than 1/2 of the seam allowance.
2. Trim raw edge and press seam allowances open.
3. Fold fabric right sides together, press.
4. Stitch seam enclosing original seam and seam allowances.
